Un’altra riesumazione del cadavere di Ian Curtis – l’ennesima – solo che questa volta ci si mettono di mezzo anche atmosfere che stanno tra una ipotetica versione lo-fi dei New Order ed una ipotetica versione metrosexual di Trent Reznor. New Love suona bene, ci sono cose che sembrano buttate lì a caso eppure hanno una loro importanza nell’economia di ogni singola canzone (oddio, più che di canzoni in un caso come questo ha senso parlare di “abbozzi di canzoni, tentativi, idee non sviluppate ma che suonano così bene che sembrano talmente sviluppate da avere già le tette”) ed è davvero roba che gira alla grande. Gianfranco Zola Jesus c’è ma non si vede, Jamie Stewart idem, Yasmine Kittles un po’ di più, rimane Freddy Ruppert (il progetto essenzialmente è tutto suo) che se arriva a fare un altro disco è la volta buona che con questa roba ci fa il botto.
